Regarding FFL Revival icons

Hey guys, I used to play FFL a while back before the game was taken down and I did some sprite work that most players actually liked. Since I like FFL, I'd like to help if I can. Which leads me to the point of this thread: Exactly how similar to FF4 can the icons be? Can they technically have the same template as all FF4 sprites as long as they are made from scratch? Sorry if this has already been clarified, but I'm not always the quickest to catch on.

Again, I'd really love to help. As soon as I understand how closely the sprites can resemble the FF4 originals I can start working ASAP!

Short answer, yes. They can have the same basic look, as long as the design is not just an exact copy of Square-Enix's work. Something like what you've demo'd in the previous post will work just fine.
