| Here's a thought I had earlier. Would it be possible to create randomized dungeons for players to train in? It would give people a different environment, other than the Giant, or Lunar Core.
My idea would be to make a dungeon, that is a random size, and contains enemies. At the end, allow there to be some kind of a miniboss, or a chest perhaps, containing a random item that could range from pretty much anything. Well, nothing -too- good, but say Cure 1 to an Elixir, maybe even random armor and/or weapons.
Of course, the enemies would have to be based upon a few things as well. Such as how many players are entering the dungeon, and their average level. It wouldn't be fair to pit three level five Young Callers up against Zemus' Mind.
I would like some feedback, so if you're reading it, feel free to reply with any input you want. Positive, or negative are welcomed, along with questions. Personally, I'd rather have something like this to train in, to actually have a goal. Rather than walk around aimlessly for hours.

| Well you gotta figure the ultimate goal is to attain level 99 for ++ classes so I'm not exactly sure if it would work. | |

| That would be the whole point, though. It would give the players a new training area, one that levels up with them so they're never having to encounter problems with earning too little experience. For example, if you train in there at level say.. 70, you'd be fighting enemies that exist in the Giant. However, as you grow, you would eventually run into enemies on the Giant, and on the moon. Eventually, let's say level 80, you're then encountering more moon monsters than Giant monsters, such as the Silver Dragon, or Skull Dragon. Eventually leading up to a mix of the more powerful ones, until the player is level 95, or so, where the final enemies would be. Granted, this is all an example.
Since there would also be a prize at the end of the dungeon, it should give enough motivation as well.

| I actually think this is a pretty good idea, games have had randomly generated Dungeons for along time though the one I remember the most is the origional Diablo. | |

| It's a good idea, but it would be extremely hard to achieve on BYOND | |

| Since I don't know Byond's coding, I'm not sure how difficult it would be. Would the random part be too hard? If so, another option, to this idea, would be to create a dungeon, that isn't random in size, and have everything else that I've mentioned added to it. | |

| at least random dungeons would be something you can do with level 99 characters. nobody wants to delete their favorite class so this is a reason to keep them around | |

You know, I never played Diablos. When I think of a randomized dungeon, I tend to think of Phantom Brave or, a more commonly known game, Disgaea. Though, those are little intense in comparison to Byond.

| A random dungeon generator is not especially hard to do in BYOND, but it is for Final Fantasy. The map elements FF4/FFL uses just aren't modular enough to be put together randomly in a straightforward way. It would probably take a lot of time and effort to write such a map generator, I don't think it'd be worth it. | |

| Personally,i don't like the idea much.
Its not that hard to get xp.
Unless the xp is actually better than the moon or better than the water way with zemus mind and zemus bodies, then its not really worth it,and then you would kind of make the dungeon obsolete and it would be a wow thing of instanced dungeons.
Behemoths give massive amounts of xp as it is and if you can get a full group, you will get some very nice xp there so i dismiss this idea unless you make it worth wild.

| This topic is a year old. The game play was very different at the time, too. The biggest idea behind it was to give people a different surrounding and something to do when people reach level 99. | |
